Charlie Clark’s Steakhouse – Experience a “bit of history” in the old Orchard
The orchard at Charlie Clark’s Steakhouse is an original old homestead of one of the oldest settlers in the White Mountains: The John Adair family.
Where the dance floor is now was the old foundation of the home. What is now Charlie Clark’s barn-bar was originally one of the settler’s small barns that they used for what equipment they might have had, or simply for additional storage space. The small apple barn next to it was used as apple storage. The apples would be layered and then each layer was covered with sawdust to help keep them warm and dry, in order that they make it through the cold winters. The large barn, chicken coop, and corral was used for what animals that they had, along with additional storage.
That was years ago…. Now it is simply called “The Orchard” because some of the old apple trees that the homesteaders planted are still there and still produce apples that the pioneers used to make jellies, pies, cider, and many other goods.
The Orchard is currently used for weddings, reunions, and all types of get-togethers, including 4th of July activities and Labor Day celebrations along with events such as quilt shows
and sanctioned chili cook-offs.
Charlie Clark’s Steakhouse runs a cook-shack in the Orchard during many of these events and can cook for any special occasion in order to accommodate your needs. The barn-bar is very unique and such a special place. Relax and revel in a drink of your choice while sitting under the beautiful apple, aspen, blue spruce and cottonwood trees as you and your family or friends enjoy yourself in this exquisitely pristine location.
The Orchard is open seasonally to the public Wednesday through Sunday, with music provided on a regular basis. The only time the Orchard is not open to the public is when it has been
exclusively reserved for a wedding, reunion, or private party. Charlie Clark’s has staff that will work with you to ensure a beautiful and memorable occasion. Charlie’s
can provide tables and chairs as well as a large tent and may accommodate up to 300 people, however some of our events are much larger. If our tent is needed for your event or activity
the local Sheriff’s Posse provides tent erecting services for a nominal fee. We also have ample parking for RV’S, cars and trailers.
We look forward to seeing you soon in the Orchard. Call us today to reserve your wedding, event, reunion, or activity! 928-367-4900
